Scholars from all disciplines are eligible to apply bringing a range of methodologies and perspectives to the nexus of creativity innovation and entrepreneurship. The definition of entrepreneurship spans the entire campus. We view entrepreneurship through social artistic intellectual and scientific lenses as well as through the traditional business lens. We see entrepreneurship in its largest sense as a process that can lead to creative solutions to social problems or the formation of new and innovative enterprises. We seek to broaden the understanding appreciation and inclusion of entrepreneurship in all disciplines on the Urbana-Champaign campus. Entrepreneurship spans opportunity recognition and resource acquisition and leads to innovation and invention. This fund seeks to encourage and support a diverse group of from all academic units to include entrepreneurship as a component of their research and teaching portfolios. 1 Thus fund is not designed to support entrepreneurship as an endeavor e.g. turning an idea into a prototype but as a research focus. The Creativity Innovation and Entrepreneurship Research Fund has been established in order to contribute to the strengthening of entrepreneurship as a scholarly domain.
