Content Inside: Academic Credit Certificate SF State Downtown Campus 835 Market St., 6 th Floor (at Powell St. BART/Muni) Program Description The certificate program requires completion of 24 semester units. 15 of these units are to be taken from a core of courses listed below and the remaining 9 may be chosen from the list of elective courses. Students are also required to take a minimum of two workshops, prior to completion of program. Program Admission To be admitted to the MRI program, students should have at least 56 units of academic credit with a minimum GPA of 2.0 or sufficient experi- ence to demonstrate that they can perform www.cel.sfsu.edu/music/ Music/Recording Industry (MRI) The Music/Recording Industry (MRI) program is designed for those students desiring to gain a solid foun- dation in the music business and recording industry. By combining these two important aspects of the music industry, business and recording, students gain a broad range of marketable skills, that help to prepare them for a career in the music industry. Whether your goal is to work as a musician, producer, engineer, manager, or agent, songwriter, or publisher, upon completion of the Music/ Recording Industry program, you will gain a foundation in the language and practice of the music business that will allow you to function intelligently within the music industry.
