The cause of the disease and the science of its remedy are practically unknown to the public. People believe some sort of drugs or surgery can cure all the diseases. He is never bothered to change his life style working methodology or food pattern. Think of a man who is suffering from diabetes. He goes to one doctor. The doctor prescribes some medicines and advises him to avoid certain food. He takes the medicines and avoids only that food and continues the same lifestyle. His lifestyle and his food pattern remains the same. After sometime he finds no cure for his diabetes and goes to another doctor. He prescribes some other drugs. After sometime somebody advises him of Ayurveda or Homoeo and he goes for it too. His search for remedy continues. The number of such remedy seekers are so many in the society. Mouth to mouth advertisement is the most effective sales promotional method in the case of treatment. The publicity of a doctor or a hospital or drug is mostly by this way. An ordinary vitamin capsule when advertised for a disease there are people who run for it. The hope is increased when the price is exorbitant. The initial benefit if any he got is not because of the medicine but because of his belief in it. After sometime he loses the hope and by the time he has lost his money and also worsened his condition. The situation is effectively exploited by the multilevel marketing people. Most of the patients do not get any benefit but the seller get the benefit. We can see that not only mushroom companies but national and international companies are also in this field. Glucosamine capsules manufactured by reputed companies in India well- prescribed by the doctors are plenty in the market for Rs.3 per capsule while multilevel marketing agents sell the same for Rs.20 per capsule.
