As stated in the OIFS Forestry Plan approved March 2002 the vision of the Society is to “pursue sustainable forest management to enhance forest productivity so as to increase the harvest level of the Okanagan Timber Supply Area and sustain economic, social and environmental values for local communitiesâ€. The Society seeks continued investments to ensure that the Society’s goals are met through the completion of both timber and non-timber resource inventories and development of enhanced silviculture management practices key to the IFPA. The objective of this document is to demonstrate that the investment schedules submitted by the Society and licensees are linked to resource management goals for the Okanagan TSA. The Society’s objectives are derived from: • Chief Forester’s determination for Timber Supply Review, December 5 th , 2005.
