Content Inside: This is a short-term contractual position VA Number: 08-07-ESCAP-ICSTD-XB-con Title: Knowledge Management Specialist Gross Remuneration: USD 5000.00 per month Duration: 1 month Deadline for Applications: 18 July 2007 Date of Issuance: 04 July 2007 Organizational Unit: Information Communication and Space Technology Division UNESCAP Duty Station: Bangkok RESPONSIBILITIES The incumbent would report to the Chief of the ICT Applications Section of the Information Communication and Space Technology Division on matters related to the project "Establishment of sustainable e-business and network for green co-op enterprises for women in rural communities." One of the many activities of the project is the creation of a web-based network of women cooperatives. The main functions of the incumbent include: 1. Develop and present a paper on knowledge networks including network strategy structure governance web presence and sustainability plan. The paper should be presented at the Consultative Meeting for the Establishment of a Regional Knowledge Network of Rural Women Cooperatives to be held on 23-24 August 2007 in Bangkok; 2. Based on the recommendations of the above mentioned consultative meeting finalize the knowledge network strategy and implementation plan of the knowledge network of rural women cooperatives in Asia-Pacific. COMPETENCIES Professionalism - Clear conceptual and strategic thinking. In-depth knowledge of ICT for KM. Communication -Excellent interpersonal networking and communication skills including proven ability to articulate and promote the KM agenda through demonstrating leadership in the KM field. Teamwork - Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with people of different national and cultural backgrounds with respect for diversity.
