Content Inside: Businesses Doing Business with the Federal Government We recently learned of opportunities for small businesses to work with the federal government to provide products and services in times of disaster. The U.S. General Services Administration recently hosted a Disaster Outreach Program to teach small businesses about the many opportunities that are available to contract with the GSA FEMA the SBA and other federal agencies following hurricanes or other disasters. The most important thing businesses should know is that they should do their homework NOW to see if federal procurement contracts are a viable option for them and not wait until after a disaster strikes. Every business that seeks to contact with the federal government must register with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR). Information on online registration is available by visiting www.fedbizopps.gov or www.gsa.library.ssa.gov. For business opportunities that are available now visit www.RebuildingTheGulfCoast.gov.
