Content Inside: undergraduate study WHAT IS BUSINESS LAW at STRATHCLYDE? Business Law is concerned with those aspects of legal regulations which are of special relevance to the world of industry and commerce. These include company law labour law and the law relating to the sale of goods. The Business Law modules have been tailored to equip students with a knowledge of those aspects of the law which will be useful in a business context. Within the University of Strathclyde Business Law is regarded not only as a vocational study but also as a broad liberal education. The interdisciplinary pattern of study is a special feature of this University and the Law School and enables all students if they wish to incorporate Business Law into their course. Please note that taking Business Law within the BA degree will not qualify you for entry into the legal profession. PRINCIPAL SUBJECT BUSINESS LAW LEGAL THINKING > BUSINESS LAW DEGREE STRUCTURE Business Law is available as a Principal Subject within the BA in Strathclyde Business School in conjunction with another Principal Subject to joint Honours only. The BA Joint Honours degree lasts four years. Students may graduate with the BA Pass degree after three years. Business Law may be combined with the following Business subjects: > Accounting > Economics > Finance > Human Resource Management > Management Science > Marketing The curriculum by year is as follows: Year 1 Students take the basic class in Business Law: Introduction to Law and Legal Obligations (ILLO) in addition to their other elective and compulsory classes.
