Content Inside: All-UC Group in Economic History Conference Call for Papers New Comparative Economic History: A Conference in Honor of Peter Lindert June 1-3 2007 University of California Davis The All-UC Group in Economic History proudly announces a conference to be held at UC Davis on June 1-3. The conference will especially honor Peter H. Lindert and will focus on "New Comparative Economic History." (1) Several sessions will be devoted to the theme of "New Comparative Economic History." These sessions will showcase the new wave of comparative approaches now being applied to the study of globalization growth and development inequality finance and other aspects of economic history where the range of tools includes quantitative qualitative narrative political and institutional. (2) A portion of this conference will also be devoted to papers on any topic in economic history for sessions that permit "100 flowers to bloom." Graduate students are particularly invited to submit papers on any topic in economic history related to their dissertation research. Participants will be provided with round-trip airfare (at the lowest available rate) to Sacramento. Bay Area and central valley participants will be reimbursed for auto mileage. Accommodations for those from outside the area will be provided at the Palm Court Hotel in Davis. The conference sessions will run from 2 pm Friday to noon Sunday. Lunch and a dinner banquet will be provided on Saturday and continental breakfast on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Timetable of Pre-Conference Deadlines By Monday March 26th. Submit paper proposals by email attachment to Mary Davis (mvdavis@ucdavis.edu). Feel free to send a whole draft serving as a proposal. Monday April 9th. The Program Committee will send out the preliminary program announcing the set of papers. By Monday April 16th. E-mail your request to be invited as a participant to Mary Davis (mvdavis@ucdavis.edu).
